As is generally known, the Scottish Government has decided that all places of public worship must close from Friday 8 January 2021.

This means that no services at Pluscarden Abbey can now be made open to the public. Even our Sunday 8 a.m. Mass has to cease until further notice.

The Scottish Bishops have registered their response to this Government policy decision. It can be found on their dedicated web site, under "Announcements": https://www.bcos.org.uk/

This enforced closure of outside doors does not prevent the Pluscarden community from continuing its own life and worship exactly as normal.

Now members of the public have the opportunity to participate in at least some of the monastic services via live streaming.
